The Vietnam Commemorative Helmet Series has been created by military
artist, Britt Taylor Collins, to honor and pay tribute to the brave men
and women that served their country in Southeast Asia during some of
America's darkest hours. Only one hundred helmets will be offered, each
having hand-created and designed to reflect some aspect of the Vietnam
War as it related to the popular culture of the 60's. The soldiers in
Vietnam turned their helmets into items of personal identity. Unit symbols,
girlfriend's names, political expressions, short timer's calendars, and
cultural icons all found their way drawn or painted on this piece of
military gear.
